Jason Bourne exploded into the public consciousness in 2002's The Bourne Identity and changed the game for spy movies and action movies as a whole. The character had been popular for a while with fans of the novels (which I haven’t read) and had even been adapted before in 1988 and played by Richard Chamberlain.
So I saw the new Ghostbusters movie and its fine! End of review.
So 8 years ago, I didn’t give a shit about Captain America. I rolled my eyes every time he made an appearance in some comic I was reading, but honestly, the only Marvel book I was picking up was The Punisher. Shame on me right?
So if the title did not tip you off, this will be a mainly negative look at AMCs Preacher. Six episodes in, I can say that I have given it a fair shake and that I hate it, so if reading negativity is a thing that annoys you, probably best to move on.
The amazing Berserk anime from the 90's has long been a source of pleasure and pain for its fans. Sure, we loved the kickass theme song, the brutal action, the renaissance era aesthetic and battle scenes and the “will they, wont they” in your face ambiguity between Guts and Grifith. On the other hand, the series ended…
So Season 2 of Killjoys gets straight into the action, picking up from and resolving last seasons cliff hanger immediately but satisfyingly. If you thought we were in for a season long search for D’Avin, you are wrong. Things have been shaken up and it looks mostly for the better!
So I guess I should put my cards on the table up front. I hated BvS. I mean I passionately hated it. But I wanted so badly to love it that I watched it twice and now I’ve watched the version that Zack Snyder had originally intended for us to see. I still don’t like the movie, but many former critics are being far more…
Well....that was crazy huh?
I will admit that I was dubious when I heard that Netflix was bringing a Voltron series to our screens. I never watched it as a kid and the whole concept seemed very Power Rangersish to me (I know, I know,Power Rangers is more Voltronish!) and I’ve never gotten terribly excited about giant robots.
So lots of things came to a head in this weeks Game of Thrones! Well...two things.
So last nights Game of Thrones wasn’t bad. It does feel though, as if our time could have been better spent elsewhere as numerous plot arcs came to a head and we realize we have made very little narrative progress at all!
